Guideline of Annual Meeting 2023 of Keio SFC Academic Society (Keio SAS2023)

We have held presentations based on oral and poster presentations at the Open Research Forum (ORF) in November every year.

This year, we decided to move the place of the presentation to the website in consideration of the influence of the Covid-19 Corona crisis. Then, we will hold the Fall Meeting in November 2020 and the Spring Meeting in March 2021 in this fiscal year 2020. For details, refer to the following explanation and FAQ.

Presentation Format

Basically, oral presentations will be made on demand.

  1. Subcategory [A-1]

    Graduation Project Presentation

  2. Subcategory [A-2]

    No-Age-Limit Project Presentation

The person selected for the presentation must answer the questions and comments given to the presentation video. The attitude of responding has a considerable influence on the subsequent examination.

Application Requirements

If you are a student and hoping to have the presentation in subcategory [A-1], you should have a permission of your supervisor who should be a member of the Keio SFC Academic Society. Please also refer to the FAQ for the definition of Keio SFC Academic Society members.

  1. Subcategory [A-1]

    Those who are currently in the final semester of 4th year of undergraduate school of SFC or who have not passed 7 months since graduation. Only one student can apply per Supervisor.

  2. Subcategory [A-2]

    Those who are a official member of Keio SFC Academic Society.

Submissions

At the time of submission, you will put together following 1), 2), and 3) as a zip file and write the URL for downloading it in the application form. Please note that those who do not meet the following standards will be disqualified.

  1. 1) Research paper

    Please submit a PDF of up to 4 pages in A4 size. Create a PDF by appropriately compressing it so that it does not exceed 5 MB. Please refer to the following MS-Word file for the format (It is basically written in Japanese, but we think it will be still helpful for you).

  2. 2) Presentation Video File

    In principle, the slide show should be accompanied by the audio description (a short video can be inserted in full screen during the presentation), and the format should be MP4 or M4V. The length should be 6-7 minutes. Please adjust the final video to be 1920 dots or less horizontally and 1080 dots or less vertically. The file weight should not exceed 500 MB.

  3. 3) Simple Image Picture

    It is a figure or photo that symbolizes the content of the activity and will be displayed next to the title (It may be also used as a material for announcements, videos such as opening, etc.). Please submit a JPG file of horizontal 640 dots × vertical 480 dots. Please note that it may be displayed in a non-ideal form if it is submitted in PDF or in a different size.

Results and Awards

Refer to 1), 2), and 3) above, 15 will be selected for [A-1] and 10 for [A-2]. If selected, be sure to attend the Results Announcement/Awards Ceremony.

  1. Subcategory [A-1]

    We plan to award Gold Prizes to 3 people, Silver Prizes to 5 people, and Encouragement Prizes to all the rest.

    2. ※Supervisor may be awarded, so it is recommended that Supervisor also attend.

  2. Subcategory [A-2]

    Three Encouragement Awards. Those who are awarded will also receive a luxurious prize.

Presentation Format

Basically, you will be given a presentation using the poster as a reference material on an on-demand basis.

The person selected for the presentation must answer the questions and comments given to the presentation video. The attitude of responding has a considerable influence on the subsequent examination.

Submissions

At the time of submission, you will put together following 1), 2), and 3) as a zip file and write the URL for downloading it in the application form. Please note that those who do not meet the following standards will be disqualified.

  1. 1) Poster

    Please submit a one-page PDF in A3 size (portrait). Please create PDF by appropriately compressing it so that it does not exceed 10 MB. You can use any style of poster according to the content you want to appeal, but please specify the name of activity and presenter.

  2. 2) Presentation Video File

    There is no particular restriction on the format, such as a method of explaining the poster in the background, a method of appealing the activity in a CM style using the poster as a reference material, or another method. However, the format of video should be MP4 or M4V. The length should be from 30 seconds to 3 minutes. Please adjust the final video to be 1920 dots or less horizontally and 1080 dots or less vertically. The file weight should not exceed 300 MB.

  3. 3) Simple Image Picture

    It is a figure or photo that symbolizes the content of the activity and will be displayed next to the title (It may be also used as a material for announcements, videos such as opening, etc.). Please submit a JPG file of horizontal 640 dots × vertical 480 dots. Please note that it may be displayed in a non-ideal form if it is submitted in PDF or in a different size.

Results and Awards

Refer to 1), 2), and 3) above, Ten presenters will be selected for presentation at [B]. If selected, be sure to attend the Results Announcement/Awards Ceremony.

We plan to award Gold Prizes to 1 people or group, Silver Prizes to 2 people or groups.
